Tips for Setting Up A Camp

Camping is one of the most popular and loved activity to spend quality time with your friends, family or with yourself. However, for beginners, camping can seem to be a difficult task, it sure gets easier.

Here are a few tips to consider while setting up a camp:

Start early. Make sure that you pitch your tent and set up the camp before the night falls.

Choose campsite carefully. The first thing to keep in mind while camping is safety. Pick a site that has a flat surface. Avoid setting up camp under trees. If you do decide to set up camp under a tree, make sure you look around for signs of any rotting branches.

Avoid waterways. This camping tip may seem obvious, but may slip from a novice’s mind. Make sure your cam site is not on a creek bed, trench or a river path that may fill up during a rainfall. Also make sure to get desert tent of good quality.

Clear the ground. Make sure that you remove all rocks and sticks from the area where you are planning to set up camp. Also make sure that there aren’t any ant nests. If you are setting Indian wedding tents, you would need to clear a larger area.

Prepare for rain. Even if the weather forecast suggests otherwise, always prepare for rain, peg your tent’s fly tightly so as to keep rainwater away from the tent walls. If you have set up camp on a slope, make sure you sleep with each of your feet pointing toward downhill.
