Pitching Your Tents In The Rain
Pitching a tent
while it is raining does require some skills as well as experience in order to
get the job done right and efficiently so as to get the tent set up in time.
Here is a simple guide on how to pitch tents in the rain:
1.
Choose your site carefully. A
gentle slope that’s away from the rain puddles, rivers, pools, or any other
water conglomerations would do nicely. Also avoid steep slopes and flat ground,
and always place entrance of the Arabian tents or any other tent that you might
be using downhill-facing.
2.
Ideally, you would also need to
choose a spot to pitch where tarpaulin could be efficiently utilized as
additional roof over the tent, jutting rock formations or in among trees. You
may try and locate a spot suitable for it on elevated ground with slight slope,
and also use cords or ropes inserted into tent’s metal eyelets of the tarpaulin
so as to hand-up the sheet.
3.
Once tarpaulin is overhead, you
will have a securely sheltered camping spot from where you can pitch your tent
more comfortable. You may use tarpaulin to pitch garden tents as well.
4.
Once you have pitched the tent,
make sure that you get in without dampening groundsheet or the dry gear. Work
strategically, fill empty water bottles before entering the tent the first
time, so that you aren’t needed to go out the tent again, thereby making a
mess. Never mix up dry and wet kit, and leave the waterproof gear at the tent’s
entrance.
